Final Reflection

At the start of this course, the goal I set for myself was to improve my language proficiency, with a particular focus on subject-verb agreement. Over the duration of the module, I believe I have made significant progress toward achieving this objective. Through the consistent practice of writing blogs and reports, I have become more aware of my use of grammar—especially the correct usage of has, have, and had. With the help of tools like ChatGPT, I’ve been able to identify mistakes in my sentences and make corrections. While I may still second-guess myself at times, I’ve noticed that this happens less frequently now.

Additionally, I’ve started paying closer attention to the words I use in my writing and how I apply them when speaking to others. This awareness has helped me become more precise and confident in both my written and spoken communication. My confidence in speaking in front of the class has also improved. One contributing factor is that I’ve become more comfortable with my classmates, which made me feel more relaxed during the final presentation. Moreover, being regularly called on to read from the slides in every class helped me build confidence. Reading aloud and getting used to speaking in front of others has gradually improved my public speaking skills.

In terms of developing my critical thinking and communication skills, I have made progress by reflecting on feedback, analyzing my own work, and being more intentional with my language use. To continue improving, I plan to keep practicing my writing and speaking regularly, seek constructive feedback, and challenge myself to engage in more discussions where I can apply these skills in real time.

Through this module, I’ve had many opportunities to engage with classmates—most of whom I only got to know because of this class. This experience has helped me reflect deeply on teamwork. I realised that everyone has different working styles: some prefer online collaboration and value flexibility, while others are more comfortable with face-to-face discussions.

In university, there should be a mutual understanding that each team member is independent and responsible. This mutual trust played a big role in how well our group worked together. We divided the workload early and worked individually at our own pace, before coming together to combine and refine our work.

One key thing I learned is how adaptable my own working style can be. I tend to observe how others function in a team and adjust my approach to align with theirs. This helps us avoid friction and stay efficient. I also learned to trust my teammates—not just to meet deadlines, but to make sure the work is done right. This trust has helped me avoid unnecessary stress.

This experience has definitely shaped how I view teamwork and learning. It’s not just about dividing tasks—it’s about understanding, adapting, and trusting others, which I’ll carry with me into future projects.
